A change of allegiance, a change of heart
Siona saught me out early today. She was angry that I'd lied to Marquie and hurt her and we soon got into our usual arguments of who's a better mage and who's better for Mar and so forth. In the end one of us attacked the other and we began rolling on the floor biting and hitting eachother until Siona and I knocked eachother back.
We came to our senses after that and began to talk. Siona is always complicated but after a while I figured out she still loves me and the reason she was so mad over R is that she was jealous in some way. For a time I wanted the same thing, though I havnt yet told her that.
Now it seems that we both want eachother, or perhaps need might be a more accurate word. Siona needs someone to care for, to ease the loneliness even I can see in her eyes, and she needs a father for Marquie, something I thought I might never be. I need someonee to help me through the business with R, to fill that void in my life and be my fellow, to cuddle with when I wish to sleep.
Siona went off to nap and I joined her after we shared our first kiss in years. More was yet to come. The next day I spoke with Marquie and she seems to be in love, or more accurately, to have a crush on someone. The fact that I lied to protect her from R dosnt seem to be the only thing bothering her, though I'm still at fault for her troubles adn that saddens me, especially with the situation with Siona unfolding.
She came down after a while and I think Mar already suspects what we'll soon have to tell her. She's a smart girl after all... But to delay telling her would only cause her more pain and be cruel, and I cant do that. We did decide that she should stay behind while Siona and I went to tell R that it was over, though.
The two of us entered the church and immediately were stunned by the amount of death within. R seemed to have been planning this for a long time. We found Lashana, her doll, had been recaptured, but we had one thing to do before freeing her. I told R what I was doing, and Siona insulted her to draw her out.
We met in battle and she was truly trying to kill me, using poisoned weapons even. I knew one nick and I would be dead, so I did all that I could to dodge and block her strikes. Finally she had my arms spread out blocking her sword and she dove in to bite my neck.
She hadn't counted on the metal collar I had put on and made invisible, and her fangs shattered on it. The distraction gave me time to send a blast of energy at her from my staff and knock her out. Her form crumbled to dust afterwards, but I knew it was not the end of her.
I hoped it was the end of her church though. I gathered Siona, who had been knocked out during the fight, and Lashana, and had the rangers douse the church in oil. There were no other survivors in the church, and so I stood alone when I struck the altar apart to create a spark to set off the cleansing fires.
I walked out of the flames unharmed thanks to my draconic side, and took Siona to the tower. I helped her change into her night clothes as she was very tired, and then we both went to sleep.
There's a script here.
