City of spiders

So I recently met one of the Baenre daughters, Ha'rissa, in the underdark. Or maybe she was just a cousin, I'm not sure. Regardless she was pretty interesting and seemed friendly enough so I decided to head to Menzoberanzan with her since I'd never see nteh city up close. I knew it was probably a trap but I figured it'd be fun. I left a note for Ali and then took off with the drow.

I had to go in the guise of a slave, which was quite a bother, but to see the greatest city in all the underdark it was well worth it. We came out of a portal within Menzoberanzan and it was everything I'd dreamed. The architecture was beautiful. You could scarcely tell that it had once been a wild and empty cavern of stalagmites.

She took me into the Baenre compound and there she revealedx that I'd been brought for her own... pleasures. I was somewqhat taken back, but I'd expected treachery so I palyed along. At some point I pretended to run my hands over her body, aiming to find just what I did- the drow sleeping darts. I bided by time a while longer and then jammed one into her arm while I held her mouth shut.

After that the routine was simple. Dress as her, walk out, leave the city after a few purchases and tricks played, and then head back to the surface. There were minor adventures on the way, such as my first encounter with a cave fisher, but excepting the usual underdark troubles it was ok. I made it back to the surface with just scrapes and bruises, but I had a harder battle to fight.

Ali was there and she found me. I dodged about for a while but she was seriously mad at me for traveling to a drow city even she hadn't dared to enter. The scolding hurt worse than anything that had happened on the way from Menzoberanzan but, as usually happens when I'm in peril, salvation arrived from the least likely source.

Gia showed up and I spent the rest of the night bringing her tea and wine and anything else she could desire. Alo couldnt beat me up infront of Gia as a matter of form and because Gia might well have stopped her anyhow. Gia's so nice, I can't see why Alais hates her.

Anyhow I showed her to a room after a while and then Athena came around and her and I and Alais talked. Alais was seeming really down until Athena arrived. I think it was because in her heart she knew that my adventure to Menzoberanzan was something she couldnt have followed on in her present state and it just made her feel abandoned. I feel really awful for her and I'm going to try to hang around her as much as she'll have me now.

Athena helped too though and Alais brightened up, especially when they started talking about weapons. Especially drow sleeping darts. Athena was very interested in them while we sat teasing eachother, and before long Alais had given her a few, which put me on my guard. She just smiled and seemed to put them away, but by the time i realized the deception one of them was sticking out of my arm and I was pouting at her as she started to carry me off towards my bed and Ali left on some sort of journey over the seas.
