Athena's Wedding and return to Blackthorne

Ive only been back in Blackethorne for barely a month after some adventures took me away, but wow, what a month. My mother's alive again, which is always nice, and my sister just got married on Sunday the 13th just a few days ago. Its taken me some time to write about it all since I've been so busy hunting some evildoers around.

So for the wedding Nic asked me if I could bring the garden to bloom early... I cooooulda done that, but I had better plans. I used my plant and weather control to bring it just to the edge of an early spring and then left it there, weaving in a spell trigger. When Athena and Nic's son Macleod finished their vows and kissed it triggered the spell to finish and the whole garden bloomed around them while one of Nic's friends from another realm set off fireworks, it was a memorable ceremony and I really hope they'll be happy.

I saw Siona after and we danced a couple of times, it felt really good being close to her and having fun again. We talked about some silly things and some less silly things, about how we felt and such... Ive always cared about her so much but she has a boyfriend now, maybe they'll b e together and he'll make her happy. Im not sure I could make her happy like that or at all. Maybe we're too alike to be together. Maybe not. I told her if I wanted to be with anyone it would be her. And I meant it. But shes had so much bad luck with boys, and it would be selfish for me to ask her to throw away a good one for me.

Aside from that theres been stabbings in the forrest, savage, vicious. Gideon, a scary kind of knight from another realm, has an apprentice named Benedict, really good guy, and they're both involved somehow. The assassin targeted Gideon's wife but I managed to get there in time to save her, she's recovering now. And it seems she has a friend working with her. Thanks to my rangers, we finally tracked her down and found this huge swordy guy carrying her around. I wasnt able to get there in time, and by the time I reached them they had unleashed a bunch of demons and jumped back through a portal.

Really its a stroke of luck, since if theyre using magic I can counter and track them, find a way to get to them and end this. Benedict seems scared for all of us, doesnt want to bring trouble down on our home. He has no idea how much we enjoy trouble haha!

The Underdark

Did I write yet about my adventure in the underdark? I may have mentioned it but I figure it deserves a bit more of my time. Siona's son Rico wanted to get her attention and see the world, so I figured the best way to do that was to get into some mischief. I decided we'd head to a drow town near Menzobaranzan I wanted to steal a spellbook from.

Of course, I had to scout the area first... It seemed a grand adventure to Rico, and it was in some ways, but I figured it was safer. We journeyed down deep into the darkness and fought off a hook horror, which Rico was kind of sad about me killing, he'd kinda wanted it as a pet.

We entered the city not long after that and I had to insist that he tried to be mean or at least keep quiet... Rico isnt good at either of those things, but hes just so cute I didnt really mind, got him a couple things at the bazaar, and I got to check out the mage tower in the city. Then we talked of drow culture and Imentioned their massages and Rico was curious, so I agreed to pay for us to get one. It was as pleasurable an experience as I can think of, and with that sorted, I ported us back home. I showed up much later to raid the mage tower and steal the book when Rico wasnt about.

A quick update

A few things happened recently I feel I should note

Firstly, I've been named first wizard of Blackethorne Bluff. Nic gave me the title personally along with a piece of her famous taffy, which I think I rather liked better than the title. Ive never actually been an official wizard before. Well... there was that time when we had to set up the army to fight Wraith's friends and some demons, but that was more of a military post. Still, its a responsibility and I've been doing my best to keep everyone safe and happy.

Speaking of, someone tried to kill Nic recently. Luckily her son and I were both there. I used a stoneskin spell to save her and we both went after the assassin. I hate to say it but he was probably better with a sword than I am, so it was lucky I got infront of him to delay him and let Macleod come in and take him down. He's off in the dungeons now waiting to be questioned or executed.

And Nic must be popular lately because her and my sister were attacked by bandits in the forest. Some of my rangers were on hand to save the day though, but the bandits escaped. Athena had a nasty bump on the head and I sat with her in the infirmary til we knew she would be ok. We really need to get after the outlaws soon, I'm thinking my apprentice Maya might be some help with finding their hideout. Oh yeah I have an apprentice now, did I mention that?  She's great!

Siona's also staying over while she's in Blackethorne. We talked tonight and it made me feel nostalgic and pull out the old diary to write a bit more. I also promised her to get Rico a diary to write in as well, but I'm going to enchant the heck out of it.

Speaking of, me and Rico had some adventures in the underdark, I'll have to write about that later though!

Curious occurence last night. Went to find Marquie and discovered her, an Amazon, a lunatic, and a group from Windstorm under siege by zombies and other creatures of darkness. I killed a few zombies and gave Marquie a mace. I thought I taught her better than to fight zombies with daggers, but she didnt happen to have one on her. Perhaps get her a bag of holding for the holidays? After the zombies went down we had to fight off a dragon riding sorceress, harpies and some hellhounds. It was interesting to say the least. Still not sure what caused all of that chaos, but will investigate further. Havent seen Nic about lately but I've been keeping the castle going as best I can in her absense, seeing the fires keep burning and no one wants for anything.

Coming home

A great deal has happened since I last wrote here. I could say its merely because I was busy, but it wasnt really like that. I've traveled the realms for years and done so much I can scarcely recall all of it and the friends I made and lost over time. Vampires, Dark Elves, other wizards and witches, fae... even that one girl who really hated magic and supernatural critters... And of course my weretiger pals on that one plane. But the funny thing is that all those places were just places I was traveling to, they never felt like home. Maybe I wanted to, I'm sure I did, but I hadnt felt that way since I lived back in Dragonshire, and of course Kielder before that. Now though, I've finally come back to a place where I belong, a place I can rest easy knowing I have family around and people I love. A place where I can write. It was chance that led me to Blackthorne, I had been seeking for Marquie to see if she was ok and met her daughter of all things.

Imagine the little girl Siona and I taught and looked after ending up with a daughter. But that's how it goes. She mentioned Blackthorne to me, and when traveling there I ended up finding Nic, who I hadnt expected to see again in any plane. I hadnt been so happy in a long time. She's clearly been through a lot, so I hung around to help her regain her memories and make sure she didnt get into too much trouble. Others arrived, as if drawn just by her presence, people I had expected to see again, but never looked for considering their habits of vanishing and planeshifting at will - my sister and Siona just breezed right in, as they tend to do I suppose.

It seems so much from the past is coming back together, coming right, and for that I'm immenselt thankful. No wonder I've avoided writing in this since I've been back, this is all frightfully sappy. I'll put extra protections on this page of the journal, and then write about something interesting and wizardly tomorrow.

Recent happenings

It's been a long time since i wrote here, i know. for a long time there was very little going on in my life, and what of it there was, i didnt feel would interest anyone. Or maybe i was just scared that no one was interested, period. But things are a lot better now, and i think its just about time i start writing again. Not just for me, but for anyone else that wants to know whats up in my life.

Lets see here, I'm running around a lot of islands lately, still mostly around Europe. I've met a lot of neat people too this past... good Mystra, its been almost a year hasnt it? Well let me just run down the list: Isolda is the queen of Isle of the Mist, she's super nice and has a really odd Lich mage named Kartak hanging around her.

I also met Scott and Vasaria. They're vampires, Tremere I thought but now I'm not so sure. They enjoy tormenting me with shadow wolves and so forth, and lived in Seattle until a recent move to Transylvania.

And then there were my travels to Blarney in Ireland. Isa is an ice demon who wanted me to be her slave, but i guess she got scared off when Mercy decided she wanted to toy with me too. Mercy is a witch of some kind, water witch I think, and very strict... She's been scarce lately though. I also got to see Rose Petal again, an old friend from Dragonshire, and then there was Aislin and Shani and Neqael and a few others, lotsa neat people there! It's too bad it got so quiet when Rose Petal, the ruler there, disappeared.

So I went to visit Isle of Darkness and there met D'Andra. It wasnt the first time I'd met her though. Her and her brother Laudric had gotten in a fight with Isa and I took Isa's side since i was sitting in her lap at the time. Luckily D'Andra didn't hold it against me.

Or maybe she did cuz when she asked me to go get her a drink i came back and all of a sudden she snapped a collar around my neck and said i was her pet. Two days of trying to escape taught me that she was a damned powerful vampire, and that she was also quite agreeable. I havent officially given u ptrying to get the collar off, but its not so bad really... although i definately dont like the idea of any kind of training from her.

I also visited Transylvania recently, got chased by shadow wolves but not as bad as usual. Vas and Scott are still getting settled in so they often have business to attend to. While they were out I met a BUNCH of great people! There was Kyrith, he's a dragon who likes to drink and knows a lot about modern culture, especially cartoons, and his angel friend with one arm, and then there was Falcon and Rebecca. They're both shadowmancers but they're so cuddly. They said I had to drink a whole bottle of whiskey but thankfully didnt really make me.

Lexi even showed up later to say hi and bug me. Apparently she's captured Kirna. Now thats just not nice at all, and I suspect shes being ill treated. I'm going to have to go try to rescue her soon I think.

Today I got into some trouble with D'Andra and Rebecca made me take a bath and all sorts of horror. What is it with girls and baths? like they just cant accept being dirty or something! gah. Oh and I also met a neat lady who is a doctor, but isnt evil. She might be a vampire too, I'm not sure.

Gods and Githyanki

Today Razi cast some evil spell on me that causes throes of pleasure to wrack the body., Its not as nice as it sounds. Also, I think she gave birth, but I couldnt tell cuz Punk had to teleport me away trying to spring a trap I set for him. I'm going to fix him good one of these days. Anyhow I met SIona in the village and we had a fight like usual and then Punk sent some Githyanmki to help her. Luckily I knew a weakness in them and got rid of the most powerful once. I had to lose the rest with a planar binding spell. Siona nad I kepot fighting even as she met Razi through a cyrstal ball Razi was projecting througfh. Siona tried to embarass me like usual and I ended up instilling wild magic in her as a punishment for blaspheming Mystra. I think shes mad.
