The terrible cruelties of the Drow

So as part of my ongoing meddling in the Dale Lands I happened upon a small village, trying to get them to play their part in my plot and help destroy the Jaelre drow living in Cormanthor. The drow tribe I've been working with is a bit more accepting and could potentially coexist, but only if their policies are dominant. The Lolthians are too small a group to worry about, but the Jaelre Vhaeraunites are larger than the tribe I'm championing and the Lolthians put together.

A bit more history and then I'll return to the present. See, I was leading patrols of the house I'm helping to ambush the Jaelre drow when they were about to go on raids. Unfortuantely one of the people I saved was in the town I approached and recognized me, pointing out that I was in league with drow. Apparently thats frowned upon in that particular village, and they made it very clear by trying to lynch me. I did my best not to permanently injure any of the attackers, and for my efforts I got a dagger in my thigh before I teleported out of there.

I got home and naturally Gia had to fawn over me even though I was fine. I tried to explain that it was a common occurence, but no such luck. She dragged me off to the healers and now I'm stuck on bed rest for, approximately forever.

Grandpa comes back, and I bug Sydel

So I was just wandering around the tower after telling Anja a few stories and putting her to bed and then I went up to see Gia. She and I were going to go down for a snack but she naturally had to fix her hair, being a girl and all. So I went down alone and my grandmother popped in the door. Des coming around is nothing new since she kinda lives around the tower.

But the man behind her was more of a surprise. It was my grandfather Garan. He seemed a great deal more agreeable than he had when I was younger. I hadnt seen him since I was very small though, and even now he's quite large so maybe the size just made him extra scary, I'm not sure. In any event the three of us talked for a while and I introduced him to Gia. He's going to get Harian to help us find my mom, and I think Grandma was as happy at that prostect as she was at her husband being back. She's missed mom more than I have I think. Not that I haven't...

So Gia and I fell asleep on the couch together and when I woke she was already off with Anja so I figured I'd go explore. I met Sydel in the forrests and followed her back to her cave. It looked like she'd slaughtered a ton of people, but it turns out that was Bret's doing. He'd overturned her cauldron and attacked her in a bid to kill her, but clearly he failed. Never the less Sydel is terrible mad, and frankly I'm impressed with the little thief for causing so much trouble.

Sydel isn't though. She wants to kill him and wont even have me speak his name. I'm just staying out of that whole mess. Sydel and I talked for a while about Gia and other stuff, and I noticed her Khaiton cloak thing is really cuddly. It seems to be semi sentient and made to caress the skin of any touching it. I really want one!
